table d’hote

Tailoring the treatment

Table d’hôte is a French loan phrase that literally means “the host’s table”. The term is used to denote a table set aside for residents of a guesthouse, who presumably sit at the same table as their host.

In France, table d’hôte refers to the shared dining offered in a vacation named chambre d’hôte (similar to “bed and breakfast”). Every guest of a chambre d’hôte can join this meal, cooked by the hosting family. It is not a restaurant, there is only one service, the price is fixed and usually included in the vacation. Everyone sits around a large table and makes small-talk about the house, the country, and so on.

Table d’hôte contrasts with the idea of “à la carte”, and what may cause the precaution of not having choices, it can certainly make the experience more enjoyable and easy. Massage in the Garage is a home business and doesn’t offer a long list of Spa services for the reason that Florence designed a space to exchange a warmer relationship with her clients. And having this in mind, she intends to discuss your needs with you and they might change from session to session. Yet you can be surprised by how a new approach to the same old issue might be more helpful and very pleasing, or even engaging!

Here are some examples of treatments Florence has experience. When you book a session you can let her know you have an interest in any or more than one of them and you tailor together a unique experience for that ‘you’ you are now.
