Detox and Nutrition
“Surrender to what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be.” Sonia Ricotti
During transitions between any season, it is an ideal time to sit back and reflect on what may be out of balance in our lives, then take steps to restore our equilibrium.
Ayurveda recommends a seasonal cleansing, purification, and renewal process in which we eliminate whatever physical and emotional toxicities we have accumulated during the prior months, allowing our mind-body to return to a natural state of balance and health. After we’ve released the stored toxins that prevent the free flow of energy and information throughout our entire physiology, we can engage in practices of rejuvenation that nurture our vitality, self-healing, and well-being.
Some come for regular seasonal cleansing and renewal, and others come to restore their balance after a major life change or focus on healing for a more optimistic way of functioning. That results in less tiredness, more energy, a less foggy mind, and clear decisions to the increasing fertility and chances of reverting diseases process. By participating in this customised program in a loving and supportive atmosphere, you find that you can reawaken your body’s inner healing abilities. Between a week to 45 days program of immersion into self-awareness and nurturing, you feel more balanced, invigorated, and prepared to re-engage in your daily life.
If you’re unable to join a Health Retreat, you can benefit from an at-home cleansing and rejuvenation retreat for your own self-care. We suggest that you allocate a week, or at least an extended weekend, to disengage as much as possible from the outside world.
Preparation is essential. As much as commitment. But, don’t worry, we are here to help with those. The elimination of toxins is optimised by preparing the body for an extended period of time determined in consultation with the practitioner. By listing food and recipes, furthermore, by teaching how gently introduce new habits for this period or for a lifetime, the elimination choice is revealed if suitable for you. Your part is to engage in self-care and simple life. Cooking facilities and homemade meals are part of this. Do not stop here. We have options for you. Ideally, it is to have you making them for yourself, yes. Changes demand changes. Still, we customise for your needs to be able to introduce changes. Nevertheless, there is more than food involved. Nutrition in Ayurveda is all that the senses receive. That means being able to let go to be caught up on bills and errands, letting friends and families know they will be going on a personal retreat, and not responding to emails or phone calls. As best, you can, create a sacred space for yourself where you won’t be bothered or distracted. Enlist the people directly around you to honor this time by alleviating yourself of as many duties as possible. And if by now you think it’s not for you, I insist. Small changes are always possible. I will be honored to be this person to alleviate your charge. Greatness starts from small beginnings.
So, what else is food?
the intake of your senses.
